First round of water

A few weeks ago started the first round of water.  As I've stated before, starting about a month ago and going into October is our busiest part of the year!  With all the spraying, discing, furrowing, spraying, irrigating, spraying, irrigating, picking, drying, packing, etc, etc, there is alot to do!  Also, in July, starts showmanship practice with the kids at the high school & that goes into the 2nd week in October when the fair starts.  Summer vacations are not on our list!

I went out and 'helped' Chris irrigate last week.  Got some cool shots.

Pinned Project

So I originally got this idea from my sister and decided to try it with the 1 year old boy that I watch.

This stuff is great for all ages!  DJ (4 yrs) & Caylob (1 yr) both LOVED playing with it.  All it is a 8 parts flour and 1 part baby oil.  The 2 lb bag of flour from Wal Mart cost me all of $.98 and it was 6 cups worth.  The baby oil was like $1.38 or something, and I only used 3/4 cup, and I bought a plastic shoe box for $.98 to store it in.  So all in all, this 'toy' cost me about $2.50 because a majority of the baby oil is still left.  And plus it smells like lavender & stores really good!

When you run your fingers through it, it feels like flour.  Totally soft and fluffy, but when you squeeze it, it is totally moldable.  And then just breaks apart back in to fluffy goodness.  I even enjoyed playing with it.

Here are some pics from the project.

I promise, he really did like it.

Don't you just want eyelashes like his?? I know I do!

Vacation Pics...Finally!

So, here are some pics from our vacation at Avila Beach.  It was amazing.  We only had 2 nights there because our lives are busy this time of year.  The day we were set to leave, we were both saying that we wished we could stay a couple more days.

Let me tell you, this little town is amazing!  It is so small, but has such a fun feel to it.  I seriously could have stayed there for a whole week and not gotten bored.

Kind of irritated that the pictures don't show up in order, but whatever.

First dinner out, in Pismo

Such a cute little town!

Our hotel...don't judge a book by it's cover.  This place was amazing!

All in all, it was a great trip.  Wish we could have stayed longer, but the 2 1/2 days we were there were pretty great!

Pinned Project

So it's been a few weeks since I've done one of these posts, but here is #2!

Caramel Apple Cheesecake Bars...holy taledo!

Everyone needs to try this recipe, at least once.  Or if you are like us, several times.  Now, don't think I make a whole pan of this and we just sit down and eat it.  That is not even possible with how rich this thing is.  I made it for Chris's birthday, a family get together last weekend and I made another one today for our friends that fed our sheep and dog while we were on our mini vacation.

It's pretty easy to make, just takes several steps.  Here is the link to the recipe.

The Pinterest app is my BFF!

Poor kid has been sick for the past couple of days with a stomach bug and has been stuck to my hip.  Since I couldn't hold him, he sat at my feet the whole time.

This stuff is delish!!

Next time I make it I'm going to try it with berries or something.

Wow-Za!!

For those of you who don't follow me on instagram (amycoolidge85), this is what my hubby bought be for our anniversary!

A Canon Rebel T2i!!
with an extra tele-photo lens

It is amazing!  The camera we have now is starting to not be as good as we need it to be, so we upgraded!  Let me tell you what...this camera is amazing!  We got it about 1/2 way through the day on Monday and we returned home tonight.  In a day and a half we took 302 pictures.  This doesn't include the ones we took on our phones.

It might take me a couple days to sort through all the pics, but they are pretty amazing!!

One year ago today...

I married my husband!!

I can not believe that it has been a year already!  Holy moly!  It has absolutely flown by.

To celebrate, we are spending a few days on the central coast.  Be back soon & I will be rested and ready to blog!

Getting ready in the hotel room

Just after our 'first look'

I love you Christopher & I am looking forward to many many more years together!

Wow, I sucked at that!

So I lasted all of a week.  Sad.  Between our big ag booster fundraiser, allergies & being non-stop busy around here, sitting in front of the computer really hasn't been an option around here.

I have lots of pics to upload of things that have been going on around here.

Garden is just about all planted.

All weeds in the vineyards have been sprayed.

The vines are now getting sprayed every 14 days, to prevent fungus, until the grapes start to soften which is around July or so.

We are approaching our one year anniversary in a week and a half.  So crazy.

I need to hire someone just to do the laundry.
