Meant to be

So, before we ever even meant, it was totally meant to be.  Not that we didn't know that already, but we have proof!!

Back in March of 2006, I was going to school at Cal Poly, Pomona.  Chris was at Reedley College.  We were 235 miles apart, to be exact, and knew nothing of each other.

March 11, 2006...

Myself and 2 other girls were headed from Pomona to Tulare for a jackpot show.  This particular jackpot had a college show at the time, and we had entered some school sheep in the show.  When we got to Tulare, we unloaded all the sheep & tack out of my truck and went and checked into our hotel.

March 12, 2006...

The day of the Great Western Jackpot Show!

Weighed...washed...fitted...changed clothes...show time...

So we showed all of our sheep...pretty sure we got last place in every class we were in.  Don't judge me, they were all school sheep.

About 2 years later...

Chris was looking through the pictures on my computer and came across some pictures that my mom had taken at that jackpot show of me showing in the market class.  And low and behold, we discovered THIS...

Pretty crazy huh? This was in March 2006, we didn't officially meet until June of 2006. 

When we discovered these pictures, we couldn't believe it. 

One year ago today...

I married my husband!!

I can not believe that it has been a year already!  Holy moly!  It has absolutely flown by.

To celebrate, we are spending a few days on the central coast.  Be back soon & I will be rested and ready to blog!

One year ago

This Saturday is our 11 month wedding anniversary.  Since our engagement was so short, I was trying to look for a picture that was taken on April 14th of last year just to see what we were doing one month before our wedding.  Oddly enough, I didn't have a picture on the 14th.  The pictures shortly before and after that date consist of planting flowers in front of the house & having a cocktail...or three...at the Ag Booster fundraiser that we helped with.  The cocktail was exactly 14 days before the wedding.  It was well worth the money spent :)

I also came across some pictures of DJ on April 12th.  A year ago today.  So funny to see the changes in him.  We see him at least once a week, so the changes aren't really noticeable, or we don't really pay attention to the changes, but when you look back at older pictures, the changes are really noticeable!

This picture was taken two days ago.  He was being silly when we were at JC Penny's looking for a new shirt & tie for Chris's class reunion this Saturday.

We think he was going for the toothless, old man look.  What do you think?

You can definitely still see the same kid, but the chubby cheeks have slimmed down, he's grown like a foot, & he has a big boy hair cut.

We love this kid & his little sister and she is a spitting image of him when he was that little.

So I spent last Thursday with an amazing person that I have known for a long time and am so happy to be able to call her a great friend!

Dana {pronounced 'Dan-uh', nont "Dane-uh') :) and I go waaaay back.  She married the son of good family friends & her husband was my preschool Sunday School teacher.  Or something like that.  Anyways, you get the idea.  They then had 4 a.m.a.z.i.n.g. children whom I have babysat since their second child was very young (he is now 13).  Yikes!  Their kids are the most hard working, respectful, sweetest kids you will ever meet.  We spent a lot of time together while I was in high school.  I loved when they had date nights because I was able to hang out with her kids & then when they got home, Dana and I would sit and catch up while Mike slept on the couch :).  Dana was also our wedding coordinator, and let me tell you, she rocked it!  Could NOT have done it without her!

Dana and I hadn't seen each other since the wedding.  I made the trip to Modesto to hang out with her and the kids on Thursday & we had a great time addressing her Christmas cards & decorating cookies.  Later in the day her and I went shopping and out to dinner.  It was great to catch up and just hang out & enjoy amazing Thai food.

Thanks for letting me come hang out for the day, Dana.  It was great to get out of the house & hang out with you guys.  We need to not wait 7 months for the next visit! :)

THE Pictures!!

Well folks, 8 hours with Jocelyn apparently gives you 925 pictures.  Absolutely amazing!!  Like I've said before, we could not have asked for a better photographer.  Not only did she capture our moods and emotions, she caught all the little stuff too.  It has taken me a few weeks to sift through them all and I have chosen just a few for you to look at.  Ok, well...567 to be exact at http://coolidgewedding.shutterfly.com/.  Please don't feel like you have to look at them ALL.  It was just the easiest way to share them with our family and closest friends without everyone having to come over and look at them on my computer.  Enjoy!!

Well, my sister is an amazing photographer, but for the wedding day she put down her camera (for most of the time) and filled her roll as MOH.  However, between her and her husband they caught some pretty fun pictures of the rehearsal, pre-wedding and during the whole evening.  They are on her blog, HERE.
